Overview
- Microsoft’s super wideband stereo is now available in Windows 11 24H2, requiring an LE Audio–capable headset, an LE Audio–supported PC, and updated Bluetooth drivers.
- LE Audio replaces the old A2DP/HFP split with TMAP and HAP profiles, eliminating the 8 kHz mono downgrade when a headset microphone is used.
- Microsoft says some existing PCs will receive driver updates later in 2025, and most new mobile PCs launching late in 2025 are expected to include support out of the box.
- Microsoft Teams now enables Spatial Audio with wireless Bluetooth headsets when stereo is available, placing voices based on on‑screen positions.
- This upgrade improves audio fidelity and usability for gaming and calls, though it does not address Bluetooth latency.
