- Taron Dickens officially signed with North Carolina out of the transfer portal on Feb. 15, according to multiple reports led by On3.
- In 2025 he threw for 3,508 yards with 38 touchdowns, two interceptions and a 74.2% completion rate, added 321 rushing yards, earned SoCon Offensive Player of the Year, collected FCS All-American honors and finished Walter Payton Award runner-up.
- He set an NCAA single-game record with 46 consecutive completions against Wofford, finishing 53-for-56 for 378 yards and three touchdowns.
- Dickens joins a competition with transfers Billy Edwards Jr. and Miles O’Neill, returner Au’Tori Newkirk and early enrollee Travis Burgess, with spring practice scheduled to open March 4.
