- Federal government employees will be off from Thursday, March 19, to Sunday, March 22, with work resuming on Monday, March 23.
- Private sector staff will be off from March 19 to 21, extended to March 22 if Ramadan completes 30 days.
- The UAE Moon-Sighting Committee will convene after sunset on March 18 to confirm the first day of Shawwal.
- If the crescent is not observed on March 18, Ramadan will run 30 days and Eid would begin Friday, March 20; if seen, Eid would start Thursday, March 19.
- Astronomical projections and the official prayer-timings calendar indicate a 30-day Ramadan, and many residents with a Saturday–Sunday weekend will effectively have a four-day break.
