Overview
- San Diego police identified the suspects as Ramses “Rex” Morales, 25, and Princess Perez, 25, who were each booked on two counts of murder.
- The victims were Ruben Chavez, 31, and Evelyn Virgen, 28, found just before 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 19 on 27th Street near Imperial Avenue.
- U.S. Border Patrol detained the pair at the San Ysidro Port of Entry around 10:05 a.m. on Jan. 19 as they tried to re-enter the U.S. after going to Mexico.
- Virgen’s three children, all under age 2, were discovered unharmed in a nearby vehicle and placed in protective custody.
- Detectives recovered shell casings at the scene and are seeking tips from the public as the homicide investigation remains active.
