Overview
- Eduardo Madina said on Cadena SER that the legislature is “more than finished,” citing the jailing of former party organizer Santos Cerdán and other corruption cases involving José Luis Ábalos, Leire Díez, SEPI, Koldo García and Francisco Salazar.
- Óscar Puente replied on X, telling Madina “the one who’s finished is you” and mocking him as a commentator who once saw himself as the party’s great hope.
- Puente posted the message during an official visit to Hitachi Rail’s factory in Pistoia, Italy, where high-speed trains for Iryo are built and models that Renfe could adopt are produced.
- The clash follows earlier barbs from Puente, who labeled Madina “resentful” six months ago after previous criticisms of party leadership.
- Puente has also targeted other prominent Socialists, chastising Emiliano García-Page for “unbearable hypocrisy” and faulting Felipe González for what he called a lack of empathy toward the current leadership.
