Toyota Unveils 2027 Highlander EV, First U.S.-Built Three-Row Electric SUV

  • Assembly is set for Georgetown, Kentucky with batteries from Toyota’s North Carolina plant, marking the brand’s first U.S.-built battery-electric vehicle and first three-row EV for the American market, with production slated to begin later in 2026.
  • Two trims (XLE and Limited) offer 77.0- and 95.8-kWh packs with front- or all-wheel drive, and AWD versions deliver up to 338 horsepower.
  • Toyota estimates up to about 320 miles with the 95.8-kWh battery, 287 miles for FWD with the 77.0-kWh pack, and 270 miles for AWD with the smaller pack, with final EPA ratings still to come.
  • The model adopts the NACS port for access to Tesla Superchargers and introduces vehicle-to-load capability for a Toyota sold in the U.S.
