TCL Brings NXTPAPER to AMOLED, Debuts Concept at MWC as NXTPAPER 70 Pro Sets April U.S. Launch

Early demos show brighter, truer color under anti-glare glass, with a phone using the tech slated for release by year’s end.

Overview

  • TCL announced its first integration of NXTPAPER with AMOLED, claiming 90% circular polarization, harmful blue light reduced to as low as 2.9%, and what it calls the first anti-glare treatment on an AMOLED smartphone display.
  • The concept AMOLED NXTPAPER panel is touted at 3,200 nits peak brightness with 120Hz refresh, ΔE<1 color accuracy, and full P3 coverage, aiming to pair eye comfort with flagship performance.
  • Hands-on reports from MWC describe visibly higher brightness and more accurate color versus prior LCD-based NXTPAPER devices, while noting the demo unit remained a concept with some features inactive.
  • TCL says it intends to ship a smartphone using the new NXTPAPER AMOLED technology before the end of 2026, and it has not yet announced a specific model or pricing.
  • The LCD-based NXTPAPER 70 Pro with NXTPAPER 4.0 is rolling out at €299 (256GB) or €359 (512GB) across multiple regions from February and is confirmed for a U.S. launch in April 2026 via a major carrier; TCL also showcased the Note A1 NXTPAPER e‑note and the 12.2‑inch TAB A1 Plus tablet.
