Overview
- Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and police say the multi-day sweep targets Shekhani- and Mazari-linked gangs entrenched in Ghotki’s katcha belt after armed men seized passengers from a Sadiqabad–Quetta bus near Ubauro.
- Officials report more than two dozen abductees have been safely recovered so far, with eight additional people previously held by the gangs also freed.
- A Rangers statement lists nine slain suspects and 27 arrests, naming Abdullah Dashti, Hazara alias Lala Shekhani and Azan alias Chhallu among those killed, with bounty notices previously posted for Hazara and Chhallu.
- Forces say they dismantled bunker-like hideouts and seized heavy arms including RPG-7s, a 12.7 gun, an LMG, an RR 75, G-3 rifles, SMGs, 12-bore repeaters, a 9mm pistol, ammunition, mobile phones and a car.
- The operation, led under DIG Sukkur’s oversight, employs armoured units, drone surveillance and road pickets, and authorities have asked residents to share tips via Helpline 1101 or WhatsApp at 03479001111.
