- Thomas Medlin, 15, left the Stony Brook School on Jan. 9, took a train to Manhattan, and was seen on surveillance at Grand Central around 5:30 p.m.
- His family says investigators suspect he traveled to meet someone he encountered on Roblox, a move they describe as out of character.
- Police told the family his phone was located in Lower Manhattan, with later video sightings in the Lower East Side and near Sands and Jay Street in Brooklyn.
- Roblox says it is cooperating with law enforcement and, after a review, reported no signs of off‑platform contact sharing, no voice chat use, and chat content consistent with typical gameplay.
