Restaurantosaurus Teardown Begins as DinoLand Archway Vanishes at Animal Kingdom

Construction for the Pueblo Esperanza expansion is now visibly underway, with the Encanto show building rising ahead of a planned 2027 debut.

Overview

  • DinoLand U.S.A. closed permanently on February 2, and the area has been fully handed over to construction crews with internal walls removed for active work zones.
  • The landmark DinoLand entrance arch has been demolished, with its remaining base supports now cleared from the bridge approach.
  • Crews have started removing elements of Restaurantosaurus, which—along with the adjacent Dinosaur Treasures shop—is slated to be repurposed rather than fully demolished, and the foundation for a new carousel is visible.
  • Vertical progress on the Encanto attraction continues with cranes on site, roof sections taking shape, and early interior work reported, though the ride system is not yet installed.
  • The Dino-Sue T. rex replica remains in place for now, and former DinoLand character meets have shifted locations, including Donald and Daisy to the Oasis, Goofy to the Harambe Train Station, Pluto to the Oasis, and Chip and Dale outside the park entrance.
