Police Release Images, Seek Suspect in Robbery of Elderly Rider at Wicker Park Blue Line

Mass Transit detectives request tips under case JK-149055 following a weekend attack on a passenger who was walking with a cane.

  • The robbery occurred around 8:25 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Division Blue Line station at 1200 North Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park.
  • Police say the victim had just exited a train when a man who left the same train approached from behind, hit and pushed him, and forcibly took his wallet.
  • Chicago police released surveillance images on Wednesday and asked the public to help identify the man shown.
  • The suspect is described as a Black man, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 8 to 6 feet tall, 160 to 180 pounds, with a thin mustache, last seen in a black stocking hat, dark jacket, black shirt with a white “X,” ripped blue jeans, and black-and-white gym shoes.
