Pirelli Names Dario Marrafuschi Head of Motorsport as Mario Isola Steps Down

Isola will support a transition until July 1 to keep Pirelli’s F1 tyre program steady.

Pirelli confirmed Marrafuschi will assume the Head of Motorsport role on March 1, succeeding Isola and reporting to Giovanni Tronchetti Provera.
Isola will assist the handover through July 1 before leaving the company to pursue new professional challenges.
Marrafuschi joined Pirelli in 2008, worked in F1 research and development, and most recently led the development of the firm’s road tyres.
The change comes a week before the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, with Pirelli remaining F1’s sole tyre supplier under a contract running through 2027 with a one-year option.
Motorsport outlets report Isola is expected to take a senior role at ACI Sport, a move not confirmed by Pirelli.
