Overview
- Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces died after being critically wounded in the Jan. 18 gunfight in the Sonnar–Chhatru belt of Kishtwar.
- At least eight soldiers were injured, with some airlifted, after terrorists used grenades and automatic fire during the encounter.
