Overview
- The NIA named Anees Fathima, Chan Pasha A., and Dr Nagaraj S. in a fresh filing before a special court on January 2.
- Investigators allege Fathima, mother of absconding accused Junaid Ahmed, provided funds and logistical support to T. Naseer and helped harbour Salman Khan, who was later extradited from the Republic of Rwanda.
- The agency alleges Assistant Sub-Inspector Chan Pasha accepted illegal gratification from Salman Khan to share prisoner-escort details for Naseer.
- According to the NIA, prison psychiatrist Dr Nagaraj smuggled mobile phones into Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, with one handset reaching Naseer for communications linked to the conspiracy.
- The probe, taken over from Bengaluru City Police in 2023, spans UAPA and other laws, previously chargesheeted nine accused with several guilty pleas recorded, and continues to track remaining absconders.
