Microsoft Delists Lens From iOS and Android App Stores Today

Microsoft is steering users to OneDrive, where scans are saved to cloud storage by default.

Overview

  • The Microsoft Lens app is no longer available to download on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store as of February 9, 2026.
  • Users can keep creating new scans in Lens until March 9, 2026, after which new scans will be disabled.
  • Access to existing Lens scans will persist only if the app remains installed and the user is signed into their last active account.
  • Microsoft recommends switching to the OneDrive app’s built-in scanner, which does not support saving scans locally on the device.
  • Lens previously offered document and whiteboard capture with enhancements and conversions to PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, while OneDrive scanning saves output directly to OneDrive.
