Man Killed, Concealed-Carry Holder Wounded in Bridgeview Pool Hall Parking Lot Shootout

Overview

• Officers responded at 2:11 a.m. to the parking lot of Que Ball Sports Bar at 7735 S. Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview, police said.
• According to preliminary accounts, a man from a second group brandished a handgun after words were exchanged outside the bar.
• A concealed-carry license holder from the first group retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and exchanged gunfire with the man, police said.
• The man who displayed the gun was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center, while the CCL holder was shot in the torso and stabilized in critical condition.
• Detectives recovered the CCL holder’s gun and shell casings, neighboring agencies assisted with crowd control, and as of Saturday afternoon no charges or victim identification had been released.
