Institutional Buyers Pile Into Akre Focus ETF, Led by Urban Financial’s $29 Million Stake

A new 13F shows Urban elevating the ETF to a top-five position despite its recent lag versus the S&P 500.

Urban Financial disclosed 440,266 AKRE shares valued at an estimated $28.8 million in its Feb. 4 SEC filing, representing 11.3% of its reportable U.S. equity assets.
The new AKRE position ranked among Urban’s top five holdings as the firm reported 54 positions and $254 million in U.S.-listed assets at quarter-end.
Urban reduced its SPDR S&P 500 ETF exposure and added to mid-cap, large-cap, and international bond funds, including IJH, FNDX, and PICB.
AKRE held roughly $7.5 billion in assets and had underperformed the S&P 500 over the past year; shares were $55.26 at the Feb. 17 close.
Lynx Investment Advisory also initiated an AKRE stake, buying 87,467 shares valued at about $5.73 million, or 3.1% of its reported assets.
