Overview
- The recall covers 15,965 2025 Transit vans built between Jan. 21 and Apr. 25, 2025, according to NHTSA.
- Some vehicles may be missing the cotter pin that secures the brake booster pushrod to the pedal, risking complete loss of braking.
- Owners are instructed not to drive affected vans until dealers inspect and, if necessary, repair the brake assembly at no cost.
- Dealers have been notified, VINs have been searchable on NHTSA.gov since Feb. 18, and owner letters will be mailed March 2–6 under recall 26C07.
- Ford estimates roughly 1% of vehicles may have the defect, reports no known crashes or injuries, and continues investigating after a December plant discovery.
