Overview
- Around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, five people were shot in an incident spanning multiple South Side locations, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
- CFD transported three victims from Woodlawn, including one from South Stony Island Avenue at East Marquette Road, and another victim was taken from East 69th Place in Grand Crossing.
- In the Tuesday Brainerd shooting, the Cook County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 32-year-old Antoine Alexander, who died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen and whose death is being investigated as a homicide.
- Police said a known person shot Alexander after an altercation reported by Page Security employees; a firearm was recovered at the scene and one person was taken into custody.
- On the North Side, a 36-year-old man shot in Rogers Park ran into an apartment building and was hospitalized in critical condition, as officers found eight shell casings and CPD released no suspect description.
