Five Wounded in South Side Mass Shooting as Brainerd Victim Identified, Rogers Park Man Critical

  • In the Tuesday Brainerd shooting, the Cook County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 32-year-old Antoine Alexander, who died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen and whose death is being investigated as a homicide.
  • Police said a known person shot Alexander after an altercation reported by Page Security employees; a firearm was recovered at the scene and one person was taken into custody.
  • On the North Side, a 36-year-old man shot in Rogers Park ran into an apartment building and was hospitalized in critical condition, as officers found eight shell casings and CPD released no suspect description.
