Overview
- Spain’s national seismic service recorded five tremors in about two hours early on January 11 with magnitudes between 1.5 and 2.1.
- Epicenters were located near Alhama de Murcia, Aledo, Pliego and Ojós with focal depths ranging from roughly 6 to 33 kilometers.
- A separate event later in the morning was logged at 10:36 near Alhama de Murcia with magnitude 1.9 at approximately 3 kilometers depth.
- The strongest quake in the sequence was a magnitude 2.1 at 02:34 northeast of Aledo, and additional small events were detected minutes apart around Alhama, Pliego and Ojós.
- The IGN reported no personal or material damage and noted that most tremors were weakly felt or unnoticed, with recent minor activity also observed off the Levante coast and west of Mazarrón on January 10.
