Overview
- Cheshire Police confirmed Kieran Cameron, 43, was located and arrested in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester by the force’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit.
- Cameron was reported unlawfully at large after leaving HMP Thorn Cross, a Category D open prison in Warrington, at about 8:20pm on January 6.
- Police had released CCTV images of him leaving the prison and issued a description, warning people not to approach and to call 999, with information via 101 or the force website quoting IML 2247029.
- He is serving a 23-year sentence for a 2016 attempted murder in Poole, where a 22-year-old victim suffered around 10 stab wounds, according to Portsmouth Crown Court records.
- Officers thanked the public for assistance, and further custody arrangements and any potential offenses linked to the absconsion will be handled through the criminal justice system.
