Disneyland Ends Early Entry for Hotel Guests, Replaces It With One Lightning Lane Credit

Disney attributes the change to low uptake of the early entry benefit.

Overview

  • Effective Jan. 5, 2026, the resort eliminated 30-minute early access at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure for guests of the Disneyland Hotel, Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Pixar Place Hotel.
  • The replacement offers each registered guest one complimentary Lightning Lane entry per stay, limited to attractions in the Lightning Lane Multi Pass program.
  • The complimentary credit cannot be used for separately priced Single Pass headliners such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance or Radiator Springs Racers.
  • According to resort guidance, the one-time credit appears in the Disneyland app at check-in, with availability reported as early as 7 a.m. on arrival day.
  • The move follows years of scaling back the perk and has prompted widespread complaints from guests who say the change diminishes the value of on-property stays compared with cheaper Good Neighbor hotels.
