Disney World Confirms Four Major Ride Closures for February 2026

Overview

• DINOSAUR permanently closed on February 1 to clear the way for Pueblo Esperanza, a Tropical Americas–themed land at Animal Kingdom.
• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad stays down through February for an overhaul that adds a Rainbow Cavern scene, upgraded lighting, enhanced effects, and a clearer storyline, with a spring 2026 reopening planned.
• Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is closed in February for improved blaster accuracy, smoother ride mechanics, and the introduction of a new character named Buddy, with a spring 2026 return targeted.
• Frozen Ever After has been closed since January and is expected back sometime in February, with no firm date yet, as work focuses on more advanced animatronics.
• Additional February impacts include Restaurantosaurus permanently closed, Impressions de France going dark for refurbishment on February 22, Pete’s Silly Sideshow unavailable until after March 20, and EPCOT’s Refreshment Port under refurbishment through at least late March.
