Disney Files Construction Permit as Rafiki’s Planet Watch Closes for Bluey Overhaul
The latest Notice of Commencement locks in contractor details as Disney finalizes preparations for a summer launch of the Bluey experience.

- Disney’s Sourcing & Procurement filed a Notice of Commencement naming Buena Vista Construction Company to provide labor, materials, and electrical work at Conservation Station.
- Rafiki’s Planet Watch, including Conservation Station and the Wildlife Express train access, will operate through February 22 and close on February 23 for the refurbishment.
- The reimagined venue is slated to reopen this summer with an interactive Bluey offering where guests can play and dance with Bluey and Bingo, while fixtures like the Veterinary Treatment Room remain.
- The Affection Section petting area will return with animals native to Australia after current animals are rehomed.
- The Animation Experience will relocate to The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with a planned summer reopening.
