Delhi Kidnapping Linked to Loan: Victim Rescued in Maharashtra, One Held
Police traced a Maharashtra-registered car through extensive CCTV review to a remote Jalna village.

- Guddu Saroj was abducted on December 27 near Panchvati opposite Azadpur Mandi in northwest Delhi, police said.
- Investigators analysed footage from more than 50 CCTV cameras and identified a car registered in Maharashtra that led them to Jalna district.
- A Delhi Police team rescued the victim in Panewadi, Jalna, during the night of December 31–January 1 and arrested Gyaneshwar Chavhan, 40.
- Police said Chavhan confessed the abduction was over loan recovery, named his brother Rajaram and associate Somnath Udadange, and a ₹2.5 lakh payment was demanded.
- A case under BNS Sections 140(3) and 3(5) was registered, local residents tried to obstruct the raid, and searches are underway for the remaining suspects.
