Chrysler Recalls 456,000 Ram and Jeep Vehicles for Tow-Module Defect

Owners can confirm eligibility on NHTSA.gov starting Feb. 10.

Overview

  • The recall covers 456,287 vehicles plus 2,871 separately sold Mopar trailer tow modules, according to NHTSA filings.
  • An improperly designed trailer tow module can keep trailer lights from illuminating and may disable trailer brakes, raising crash risk.
  • Affected models include 2025–2026 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 variants, the 2024–2026 Jeep Wagoneer S, and the 2026 Jeep Cherokee.
  • Dealers will replace installed modules at no charge and will repurchase uninstalled Mopar units as the remedy.
  • Owner notification letters are scheduled for March 24, and Chrysler reports no accidents or injuries linked to the issue to date.
