- U.S. District Judge Robert W. Gettleman imposed a seven-year, eight-month term on 54-year-old Lawler for a series of armed hold-ups.
- Between September 2021 and April 2022, Lawler robbed four banks and a credit union across Naperville, Lisle, Westmont, Woodridge and Downers Grove.
- Lawler entered each institution and passed demand notes to tellers while his accomplice waited outside as the getaway driver.
