- Luis Alberto Lopez Castillo, 19, turned himself in at the NYPD’s 43rd Precinct and was charged with murder, manslaughter, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
- Detectives transported Lopez Castillo to Rikers Island after his surrender, with a Supreme Court arraignment expected Tuesday.
- Police say 26-year-old Ronell Marte was approached during an attempted robbery inside Starlight Park around 2:50 a.m. on Sept. 4 and was shot in the chest, later dying at Saint Barnabas Hospital.
- Investigators also link the same suspects to a 12:30 a.m. armed robbery of a 21-year-old near 1410 Beach Ave. and the Cross Bronx Expressway earlier that night.
- Authorities have not said who fired the fatal shot; Martinez, 20, was arrested on Sept. 18 and faces similar charges.
