Overview
- The BJP’s Mira-Bhayandar manifesto pledges over 100 new concrete roads, a 300-bed civil hospital, added bus services with shared rickshaws, and completion of the metro, Dahisar–Bhayander Link Road and Jesal Park–Ghodbunder coastal link.
- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the Dongri car shed tied to Metro Line 9 will be scrapped and announced a policy to hand over slum-occupied salt pan lands for PMAY redevelopment with a cluster policy tailored to local needs.
- The Mira-Bhayandar plan also promises 24-hour water via the Surya project plus a new 75 MLD scheme, cancellation of the Penkarpada garbage project, a biodiversity park, pollution controls and surveillance towers focused on women’s safety.
- In Bhiwandi, the BJP earlier laid out road concretisation, flyover safety upgrades and recreational spaces under flyovers, with an e-bus rollout variously reported at 100 or 200 buses and a push to speed Metro Line 5 to Thane.
- Economic and housing planks for Bhiwandi include a large textile trade building with research and training facilities, slum redevelopment through cluster or SRA models under PMAY, TOD near metro stations and environmental measures such as tree planting, anti-smog guns, electric crematoriums and citywide CCTV.
