Bensalem Officer Shoots Motorcyclist After Road Rage Confrontation

  • A motorist called 911 around 5:45 p.m. Saturday after a motorcyclist allegedly pointed a gun near Bristol Pike and Biddle Lane
  • Officers located the motorcycle and the victim’s vehicle at Bristol Pike and Appleton Avenue where the bike slid into a patrol car and the rider fled on foot armed
  • A Bensalem officer issued verbal commands that went unheeded before firing his weapon and striking the suspect, who received life-saving aid at the scene
  • Investigators recovered a black handgun at the shooting site and transported the suspect to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for surgery
  • No one in the other vehicle was injured and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has launched an independent investigation into the use of force
