- The agreement removes Barnard College from a Title VI lawsuit filed by Jewish and Israeli students while the related suit against Columbia University continues.
- Barnard will appoint a dedicated Title VI coordinator to review allegations of discrimination, produce an annual report and apply federal civil rights guidance.
- The college will ban face masks at demonstrations and enforce strict time, place and manner restrictions on campus protests.
- All students, faculty and staff must complete training on Barnard’s anti-discrimination and harassment policies and receive an annual zero-tolerance message on antisemitism.
- Beginning fall 2025, Barnard students will receive free access to courses at the Jewish Theological Seminary and the school will consider the IHRA definition of antisemitism when addressing complaints.
