Overview
- During two shows on Feb. 20–21 at São Paulo’s Allianz Parque, Bad Bunny wore a jacket Pelé used at the 1966 World Cup in England.
- The piece was lent by Alambrado Futebol e Cultura, whose owner, Cássio Brandão, holds more than 7,000 soccer items, including 115 from Pelé.
- The artist also revised a line in his song Monaco to reference “scoring a goal after Pelé and Maradona” instead of “Messi and Maradona.”
- Brandão said the jacket was handled carefully and “came back only with sweat,” describing it as returned in the same condition and suitcase.
- Pelé’s official Instagram posted a thank-you on Feb. 22, and coverage noted the gesture renewed interest in the Brazilian icon among younger fans.
