Apple activated hypertension notifications for Apple Watch in Australia, Malaysia, Colombia, Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, and Turkey on January 27.
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration granted approval, enabling the local rollout via a software update.
The capability is limited to Apple Watch Series 9 or later and Apple Watch Ultra 2 or later.
Users in supported countries can enable notifications through the Health app on iPhone.
The system reviews about 30 days of watch sensor data to infer regularly elevated blood pressure, does not take a blood pressure measurement, and then prompts medical follow-up with optional manual cuff logs in Apple Health.
