AMD and Overclockers Set 4.769 GHz GPU World Record on Radeon RX 9060 XT

An LN2-cooled run by overclocker Splave with Sampson appeared in a short AMD video that omitted detailed power and test data.

Overview

  • The 4.769 GHz peak surpasses the RX 9060 XT’s 3.13 GHz boost spec by more than 50% in a vendor-supported showcase.
  • Liquid nitrogen cooling was required after air or standard liquid cooling topped out around 3.3–3.5 GHz during the attempts.
  • Wccftech reports the run was conducted at AMD’s Markham, Ontario office with Allen “Splave” Golibersuch and Bill “Sampson” Alverson.
  • The result outstrips prior 4.0+ GHz feats, including Splave’s 4.02 GHz on an RTX 4090 and SkatterBencher’s 4.25 GHz Arrow Lake iGPU.
  • TweakTown notes AMD’s clip lacked a full spec breakdown, there is no unified official leaderboard for such records, and a glimpse of an unreleased ‘AMD Graphics Manager’ app appeared on-screen.
