Overview

  • Before tipoff at Gampel Pavilion, Karaban became the first active UConn men’s player inducted in-season into the Huskies of Honor, with his name unveiled in the rafters.
  • He played all 40 minutes and posted 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting (5-for-6 from three) with late free throws to secure a 71-67 win over Seton Hall.
  • The victory moved the Huskies to 27-3 overall and 17-2 in the Big East, keeping them on track for the league title race and a top NCAA Tournament seed.
  • During the game Karaban moved into the program’s top 10 in career scoring; he is also the school’s all-time leader in victories and made his 140th start.
  • UConn also honored seniors Tarris Reed Jr., Dwayne Koroma, Alec Millender and Malachi Smith; next up is the regular-season finale at Marquette on March 7 before the Big East Tournament begins March 11.
