Abu Dhabi Extends USDT’s Regulated Status Across Nine Blockchains in ADGM

The move advances ADGM’s strategy to anchor institutional crypto activity with supervised stablecoin rails.

Overview

  • ADGM’s FSRA recognized USDT as an Accepted Fiat‑Referenced Token across Aptos, Celo, Cosmos, Kaia, Near, Polkadot, Tezos, TON and TRON.
  • The designation expands earlier permissions that covered only Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche within the ADGM framework.
  • FSRA‑licensed firms inside ADGM can now support regulated trading, custody and settlement using USDT across the newly approved networks.
  • The update complements recent ADGM actions, including recognition of Ripple’s RLUSD, Circle’s Money Services Provider FSP, and Binance’s full authorization to begin regulated operations on January 5, 2026.
  • Tether framed the approval as reinforcing stablecoins’ role in modern finance, highlighting increased interoperability for institutional use and decentralized applications under supervision.
