Overview
- An emergency call was placed at about 7:07 p.m. Wednesday from the Embassy Suites in Livonia near Interstate 275 and Seven Mile Road.
- A woman swimming in the hotel pool spotted a child at the bottom, pulled him from the water, and called 911.
- The bystander performed CPR until police and fire personnel arrived roughly three minutes later.
- First responders took over care and transported the boy to the nearest hospital, where he was declared deceased.
- Police said the child's father was near the pool at the time, and the circumstances are under active investigation.
