Overview
- The altercation began as a verbal dispute around 6:46 p.m. on Feb. 17 on the Back Bay Station platform, according to MBTA Transit Police.
- Police said several juveniles tried to strike and kick a 27-year-old before a kick sent him backward into the side of a departing train.
- The victim sustained a forehead laceration, was conscious and alert on the platform, and received aid from bystanders, officers, and EMS.
- A nurse who helped the man described significant bleeding and said teens ran in different directions, with some boarding the departing train and a phone thrown onto the tracks, according to witnesses.
- Detectives say the investigation remains active and no additional arrests have been announced.
